The 2023 Swim clinic was back at the Plantation pool again this year on Sunday Aug 13th! The Plantation pool is a great host and we appreciate all the love and support. We had over 135 swimmers registered for this event! Once again, our amazing coaches showed up in force and it was a beautiful day of swimming! The kids got an amazing gift and everyone got a raffle prize! We can't forget the FOOD! As usual Pasquale's, a long-time sponsor donated the pizza which is a huge hit! Thank you for attending and keeping Nick's memory alive though the swim community and our mission giving back!
Nick was running 5K races with his family at a very young age. He and Daria ran a few as well and he always ran with her even though he probably was able to run a little faster, but that is what love is. We worked with the people at K2 Road Sports to put this event on and it was AMAZING! We had over 200 people register for the 5K/10K and we are looking forward to getting to 300+ in 2024! We had some great runners show up. Old, young, and every age in between. Check out the pictures page for some great photos. Stay tuned for information on the upcoming 2024 events!
Seeing all the swimmers at this year's Ocean Race warms our hearts! We appreciate everyone putting up with less than perfect conditions. We can control a lot of things, but not the weather! Everyone still had a great time and we enjoyed seeing all our old friends and meeting all the new ones. It's amazing how many people come up to us and want to know about Nick and his life. The people at Salty Sports Society put on a great swim and we are proud to call them part of the Swim4Nick family. Can't wait to work with them again in 2024!
The 2022 Swim clinic was moved to the Plantation pool due to a scheduling issue with Coral Springs. The Plantation pool was a great host and we appreciate all the love and support. We had over 120 swimmers registered for this event! We had some amazing coaches and it was a beautiful day of learning! The kids got an amazing gift and everyone got a raffle prize! We can't forget the FOOD! Our friends at Pasquale's are a long time sponsor and donate the pizza which is a huge hit! Thank you for attending and keeping Nick's memory alive though the swim community!
We were finally able to hold the 1st annual Swim4Nick ocean race on Oct 16th. It was a great event with an amazing turnout! We had participants of all ages and skill levels. We thank all of the people who supported this swim and look forward to next year's race with an even larger turnout.
On Sunday August the 29th Swim4Nick held its 3rd annual free swim clinic at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center. Over the past three years, the clinic as hosted almost 300 swimmers of all ages. This free event is meant to help local swimmers improve their swim strokes as well as bring swimmers from different high school and club swim teams together for a day of fun and remembering Nicholas Dworet. When swimmers arrive at the clinic, they are given a welcome gift. This year the gift was a stainless-steel insulated water bottle was sponsored by Sable Insurance Group and a draw string bag that was donated by Arena Swimming USA. Volunteer coaches for the swim clinic were Andre Bailey from TS Aquatics, Jason Hite from University of Indianapolis and coaches Randy Horner and Brien Moffitt from Florida International University. With over 80 people registered to swim we made good use of the beautiful Coral Springs pool that always has plenty of room for the Swim4Nick family. Swimmers were coached on all four swim strokes and moved from station to station to get tips from the coaches who truly love what they do.
Last month @uindy_swimdive honored Nick at their meet vs @lindenwoodswimdive . Uindy had special caps make with the @swim4nick logo. Last year we visited the team and watched their meet vs Lindenwood. We hope to be back there next year to watch the swim meet in person. We continue to be touched by the support of @uindyathletics , Coach Hite, and the swim & dive team! Best of luck the rest of the season!
This is a fund raising event for The Nicholas Dworet Memorial Fund Inc. DBA Swim4Nick! We are asking swimmers from all over Florida to raise money by swimming laps to benefit Swim4Nick. We are going to dedicate the new Swim4Nick blocks at about 10am. Several people will be speaking and we will have a group picture taken.
We will have S4N items for sale and a silent auction and/or raffles. Everyone is welcome to attend this event and join us in remembering Nick.
We dedicated a magnolia tree and park bench at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center on Sunday February 3rd. A plaque with Nick's photo and quote were also installed at the site. We were joined by family and friends to remember Nick and his love for the pool. Nick spent many days at the pool building friendships and a legacy that will live on forever! It was at the pool where Nick grew into the wonderful young man he became. He also met the love of his life there which was so fitting. Please visit the aquatic center and spend some time sitting on the bench and remembering Nick.
